your resource for superb vocal instruction and upcoming musical events featuring Dr. Gudmundsson's performances and direction. Reynir Gudmundsson began his music studies in his native Iceland and came to the United States on an American-Scandinavian scholarship to continue his studies at Boston University where he obtained his MM and Ed.D. degrees. His studies have taken him to England and Austria, and the United States. He has sung in Europe, the Caribbean, and on the East and West coasts of the United States. As a vocal teacher, he has taught voice and choir at several colleges in New England and Puerto Rico. As a music educator, he established the Creative Arts Program for the City of Holyoke, Massachusetts, and directed an inner city boy's choir in New Haven. He was a performer and executive director of Opera Works in Massachusetts, a touring company that brought opera to schools. He served as a director of vocal music at Moreno Valley High School Arts Academy, choir director for a variety of churches, directs the Riverside Little Opera, and keeps a studio for his private students. He has organized concert series in Riverside and sung with the Pacific Chorale and the Los Angeles Camerata. With the latter he has been featured as a soloist in a variety of oratorios, passions and other masterworks. His opera experience as a singer has been as Rodolfo in La Boheme, Manrico in Il Trovatore, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana, Canio in I Pagliacci among others.
